Church of the Redeemer’s Ten Year Coracle Journey

By John Lundgren

Our tiny boat set out from Cross
They knew we would prevail.
They said, “Good-by” and grieved their loss.
The Spirit blew our sail.

Our Mother Church had sent us out,
With Blessing and Provision.
We were small, but hearts were stout
With clarity of Vision

Advent Lutheran was our first,
Landing on a shore.
Our little boat could hold a few
But then God gave us more—

Worshipers, who were brought in
With Joy and much Thanksgiving.
We Lifted hearts up to the Lord,
For all we were receiving.

Then for the space to flourish as a church,
We sought an antidote.
We searched and prayed,
And then God gave…
To us, a bigger boat.

We sailed south to St. Andrews’
With stunning worship features.
But we couldn’t settle in that place
Because we couldn’t hear the preacher.

But those whom He was calling,
The Lord added to our Vessel,
And our growing congregation,
Soon sailed east to Bethel.

For the Lutherans have been good to us,
And Loaned their worship spaces,
And often joined with us to Serve
And share our common Graces.

New members came and blessed us more.
The list is getting longer.
And even though we struggled so
The Lord has made us stronger.

And then we sailed to Gathering Place.
Which eased some growing pressure.
The kids had room, The A/C worked!
The Air was even fresher!

And Here we are,
Ten Years of late.
His Glory we’re professing
We sing, reflect, and Celebrate,
Rejoicing in His Blessings!

And we Gather at His Table.
We lift our hearts in Praise!
May we be His Faithful Presence,
Tell our Story of His Grace.
