Rev. Liz Stewart

Rev. Liz Stewart

As Pastor of Discipleship and Spiritual Formation, Deacon Liz nurtures the testimony of God’s works between generations and provides leadership in discipleship and spiritual formation within the sphere of ministry to children, youth, and children’s leaders.  She also participates in pastoral care and other responsibilities within the church.

Liz is a native of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. She has lived on both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts, but she and her husband, David, have called Falcon Heights home for the past 14 years. Liz and David have four grown children and two grandchildren. Though she served in ministry to children as a volunteer for most of her adult life, it wasn’t until 2005 that Liz “retired” from many years of home education and work as a musician to join the staff of Church of the Cross directing the ministry to children and families. Liz completed a Master Degree in Children’s and Family Ministry at Bethel Seminary in 2014 and was ordained a deacon that same year.

Liz served as Pastor of Children’s and Family Ministry at Church of the Cross from 2004-2015, where her vision for spiritual formation and worship shaped ministry not just to children, but to all ages. Liz’s gifts in training and mentoring have borne tremendous fruit for Christ’s kingdom, and we are excited for our church body to benefit from her gifts and leadership.
