Stations of the Cross

Stations of the Cross

The liturgy of the Stations of the Cross is a powerful way to worshipfully meditate upon and follow Jesus’s path from the garden of Gethsemane, to his crucifixion, and finally to the garden tomb.  It is traditionally observed sometime between the hours of noon and 3 p.m. on Good Friday.  A liturgy of the Stations of the Cross, and recordings of the chants as recorded by several members of our congregation are include below.

Now let hearts be filled with wonder…
I. Dark among the trees…
II. Once they broke their bread…
III. As the rulers come…
IV. Peter follows to the courtyard…
V. See how Pilate…
VI. Nothing could be more exalted…
VII. See him shoulder now that burden…
VIII. See how Simon, pressed to service…
IX. Lo, the women loudly wailing…
X. See we how he prays forgiveness…
XI. Jesus suffers cruel mocking…
XII. See the Blessed Virgin Mary…
XIII. Love and thanks and praise…
XIV. Now let hearts be filled with wonder…
Glory be…
