Behold the wood of the cross, on which was hung the world's salvation — Book of Common Prayer
Join us on Good Friday at Calvary Church, 6pm, when we remember that Jesus suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God. By the Cross we are redeemed and set free from bondage to sin and death so it becomes for us a sign of life in the midst of death.
On this most somber of days we will approach the horror and the hope of the Cross through Scripture, music, prayerful devotion, and a special collection for two local ministries.
Stations of the Cross
Prior to the Good Friday service (4–6 PM) there will be a stations of the cross designed with children in mind. The whole family of God is welcome. Sign up for a half hour time slot.
Good Friday Offering
Each year, on Good Friday, we give our offering toward a local or global outreach ministry. This year’s Good Friday offering will support two Twin Cities-based ministries: New Life Family Services and Together For Good.
- New Life Family Services provides free pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, STD testing, and counseling at four locations in the Twin Cities and Rochester through its First Care pregnancy centers, as well as comprehensive adoption services through New Life Adoptions.
- Together For Good creates pathways for the church to come alongside vulnerable families in Christ-centered ministry.
Please pray, give generously, and volunteer in support of these two ministries which facilitate life-affirming choices in our local community.
Offering plates will be passed at our Good Friday service in support of these two ministries. To give online visit the giving page and choose ‘Give to Good Friday Offering’ or text the amount you’d like to give, followed by the word ‘Friday’ to (651) 615-9117.
