REV. PAUL CALVIN

Rector

Both Paul and Anne were raised in Baptist churches but were drawn to the Anglican church through the influence of a church they attended while they were students at Wheaton College in Illinois.  Paul has a great appreciation for Anglican worship, and is thankful for the grace God gives to us in Word and Sacrament.

From 2003 to August 2012, Paul served at Church of the Redeemer’s planting church—Church of the Cross (Hopkins, MN).  He has served as a pastor at Church of the Redeemer since 2007.  Together, Paul and Anne have been involved at Church of the Redeemer in musical worship, teaching, and in numerous other areas of ministry.  Paul is a graduate of Bethel Seminary and was ordained a deacon in 2010 and a priest in 2011.

God has called Paul to sing, pray, and equip fellow Christians for ministry.  A fan of the Twins, the North Shore, fishing, hunting, and winter; Paul and his wife Anne live in St. Paul with their four children.

Sonia Keillor

Director of Children and Family Ministry & Parish Administrator

Sonia was born and grew up in Minneapolis. She received education and bible degrees from Northwestern College (UNW-SP). Along with her husband, Will, she joined the Anglican world in 2005 at Church of the Cross and came to Church of the Redeemer in 2010 as it began meeting weekly. She and Will have four children and live in Brooklyn Park, where they enjoy playing pick-up soccer with friends and setting off on camping adventures to the West Coast. In her ministry work, she enjoys inviting children on a pilgrim journey and showing them how to get ready, in body and mind, so that they have ears to hear and eyes to see God’s presence in their lives.

Div. in 2008 and was ordained to the deaconate in 2017.  She has served as a missionary in Japan, and as a volunteer for international students, neighborhood schools, and ministries such as Alpha and All Things New prayer ministry.  She serves Church of the Redeemer in ministries of prayer, pastoral care, missions and outreach.  She and her husband, John, have four adult children and 13 grandchildren and live in Roseville.

Caleb Molstad

Caleb is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a PhD in English Literature. He enjoys a good book and a good cup of tea. Caleb may also be found biking around the Twin Cities, walking outdoors, or writing wherever he can find acceptable green tea. He is excited about building relationships with students to help them connect their faith to their everyday lives and grow in their relationships with Christ. Caleb grew up near the mountains in Oregon but has found a home among the 10,000 lakes of Minnesota with his wife Sarah.

Rev. Dr. Edward Combe

Non-stipendiary Minister

Edward was born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He graduated with a degree in chemistry from Queen’s University in 1962, and moved to Manchester University (England) to the dental school as a junior faculty member in Dental Biomaterials. He spent some 30 years there, acquiring two research doctorates, and had two spells as a visiting faculty member at Northwestern University in Chicago. He is married to Isobel, whom he met in Manchester. They have two daughters and two grandchildren in England.

Edward was a licensed lay reader for 20 years in the Church of England, and then studied part time for ordination on the Northern Ordination Course (Manchester). He was ordained as a deacon and priest (1989 and 1990) by the bishop of Chester. He spent five years as a nonstipendiary (volunteer) minister in a parish in suburban Manchester, while continuing academic work.

In 1994 Edward and Isobel moved to Minnesota, as Edward took up a faculty position in the University of Minnesota. He retired fully from that position in December 2012, after 50 years in academic life.

He is a keen supporter of Manchester City (not United!) soccer club and manages to go to about three games per season when on vacation.
