About Us

Church of the Redeemer is a local expression of historic faith, enduring worship, and genuine community.  At Church of the Redeemer you will participate in worship that is joyful and reverent. You will learn from God’s Word and receive from God’s Table in worship that glorifies God through enduring Christian faith and practices. Most importantly, you can expect to encounter the living God who accepts us into His family and empowers us by His Holy Spirit to do the work He has given us to do.  If a faithful, relational, and rooted community is something you desire, visit us and experience it for yourself.

OUR AFFILIATION & BELIEFS

We belong to the Anglican Church in North America under the leadership of Archbishop Steve Wood. Church of the Redeemer is a congregation in the Anglican Diocese of Pittsburgh under Bishop Alex Cameron.

The Anglican church is rich in history and globally dynamic, reaching into over 160 countries and accounting for approximately 78 million people worldwide. Anglicanism professes the historic Christian faith, namely…

  • The Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as containing all things necessary to salvation and being the rule and ultimate standard of faith
  • The Apostles’ Creed as the baptismal symbol and the Nicene Creed as the sufficient statement of the Christian faith
  • The two sacraments ordained by Christ himself—Baptism and the Supper of the Lord—ministered with unfailing use of Christ’s words of institution, and of the elements ordained by him
  • The historic episcopate (the office of bishop–originating with the apostles), locally adapted in the methods of its administration to the varying needs of the nations and peoples called of God into the unity of His Church

The Book of Common Prayer, 39 Articles of Religion, and Book of Homilies are three unique standards of Anglican belief and worship.

Our History

In 2007,  members of Church of the Cross in Hopkins, MN began meeting for midweek Evening Prayer in Roseville. One of their prayers at that time was that God would someday use them to plant a church in St. Paul. God answered those prayers and has given life and growth to what is now Church of the Redeemer. Church of the Redeemer began weekly worship in the east metro as a second service of Church of the Cross in 2010, launched as Church of the Redeemer in 2011, and gathered for worship in the Como Park neighborhood from 2012 to January 2017. February 2017 we began to meet in Arden Hills at the home of Gathering Place Lutheran Ministries (formerly Trinity Lutheran Church of Lake Johanna). Starting Fall 2020 we have gathered for Sunday worship at Calvary Church in Roseville.
